Schengen Visa

Foreign country citizens who will apply for a Schengen Visa in Turkey must definitely have an available valid residence permit continuing for 3 months. Foreign country citizens who do not have a residence permit cannot make applications to foreign country representations in Turkey.

The Schengen Visa is a visa procedure signed by 26 countries. With the Schengen Visa, you will have had the right to travel to 26 member country land. Documents Required for a Schengen Visa

  • Passport: You need a passport valid for at least 6 months.
  • To Have a Residence Permit: In order to be able to apply for a visa from the Schengen member country representations you must have a residence permit in Turkey. The knowledge of why you want to do these procedures from Turkey and not from your own country is requested. People who do not have a permit in Turkey must make their application from the country they have residency. Applicants who do not have the concerned consulate in their country can make their application without need of permit.
  • Preparation of Income Documents: Foreign country citizens that will make a Schengen Visa Application are obligated to prove how they provide their income in Turkey. They must provide a stable money flow which has to be careful about, such as rent income, work documents, or retired salary. Students who are being educated or people who do not work in Turkey or their country must document a stable salary account sponsored by a 1st degree relative of the family (mother, father, sibling). 
  • Birth Certificate: It is called the family community document. You have to present your family tree (table) which consists of your family members to the concerning consulate. With this document, you will have proved the true identity information of your mother, father, siblings, spouse and children.     
  • Official Invitation or Hotel Accomodation Information: It is mandatory that applicants of foreign country citizens that will apply for a Schengen Visa in Turkey to declare on their application documents an Official Invitation or hotel accomodation information where you will stay. You must present the acceptance and address information of the place you will accomodate at the Schengen region during the application.
  • Travel Health Insurance: Foreign country citizens that want to travel to Schengen member countries from Turkey must have a Travel Health Insurance done with a deposit payment of 30.000 Euro.
  • Translation: Consulates request you to document necessary documents signed and stamped by Certified Translators during your application.
